Celebrating Community Involvement
AIDS Project Rhode Island invites you to join us on the eve of World AIDS Day
at the Providence Marriott Hotel located on Orms Street in Providence.
In celebration of World AIDS Day, AIDS Project Rhode Island will be honoring the achievements of five individuals and one local organization who have been engaged in Rhode Island’s response to the fight against HIV/AIDS. There will also be a special tribute to one of the Project’s Founding Fathers, Dr. Alvan Fisher.
This year’s honorees include:
David Abbott receiving the Richard Katzoff Leadership Service Award
Dr. Anne DeGroot receiving the Dr. Alvan Fisher Medical Service Award
Alysha Brock receiving the Maggie Valentine Service Award Comprehensive Community Action Program receiving the
Community Partner Award
Sen. Rhoda Perry & Rep. Thomas Slater receiving the Advocacy Award
Stephen Hogan Jr. receiving the Outstanding Service Staff Award
This year’s honorary chair is Carolyn Benedict Drew, President of the International Institute of Boston and former CEO of Family Service Rhode Island, who also played an instrumental role in starting AIDS Project Rhode Island.
